Doesn’t anyone who cares about performance first admit that DCTs are the best  for ICEs ? My problem with autos are that they’re boring. Never tried a DCT.

Try a DCT in traffic. So herky jerky. They’re great once you get moving. Can’t speak to Porsche PDK I’ve heard it’s one of the best in the industry .

I’d rather prefer a good auto like a ZF 8 speed for a daily driver.

I would just say it depends on how good the automatic transmission is, like obviously I would take a 5 or 6 speed manual over some gm 4speed Auto or something, but if it's a really good automatic transmission then I don't see why I would complain
